2012 Chhawala rape-and-murder case; Lawyer of victim's parents seeks urgent listing before SC against acquittal order

New Delhi, Dec 8 (UNI) The lawyer of the victim's parents in the horrific and gruesome 2012 Chhawala rape-and-murder case on Thursday mentioned the matter seeking urgent listing of their review petition and said that the public's confidence had been shaken due to the conversion of the capital punishment to acquittal in the case.
"The public's confidence had been shaken due to the conversion of capital punishment to acquittal in the case. Please list it for urgent hearing the matter (Our review petition)," lawyer, Charu Wali Khanna, mentioned the matter before the three-judge bench, led by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chadrachud and also comprising Justices JB Pardiwala and PS Narasimha.
The lawyer of the victim's parents, Khanna pleaded to the Supreme Court for an an urgent listing and hearing their review petition on the ground that the accused persons capital punishment has been converted to acquittal.
