10 percent seats reserved for Wards of NRI candidates by PU

Chandigarh, July 12 (UNI) The Punjab University has reserved 10 percent of its seats for wards of NRI candidates and another 5 percent for foreign national students in each of its undergraduate and postgraduate courses, an official said on Friday.
The reservations for these two categories of students were done over and above the total number of sanctioned seats in the varsity.
In view of the UGC guidelines of April 26, the university syndicate has approved 25 percent supernumerary seats in place of 5 percent, over and above the total number of sanctioned seats, in all UG and PG courses. The only exceptions are Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course or any other course governed by a regulatory body which does not allow additional seats for foreign national students from the academic session 2024-25.
