'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative become mass movement: CM Shinde

Mumbai, Aug 9 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Friday that the Centre's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' programme has become a broad movement that instills a sense of nationalism and patriotism in the younger generation.
Shinde launched the campaign at the August Kranti Maidan in south Mumbai on the 82nd anniversary of the Quit India movement, stating that the national flag will be flown above 2.5 crore households, offices, and commercial facilities across the state.
According to the official press statement, in this regard, a meeting was held at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on Thursday, during which the Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for the door-to-door tricolor campaign.

Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. I. S. Chahal, Vikas Kharge, Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue Department Rajgopal Deora, Additional Chief Secretary of Transport Department Sanjay Sethi, Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department Deepak Kapoor, along with Secretaries of various departments and Divisional Commissioners, Collectors, and Municipal Commissioners, were present.
Speaking during the meeting, Shinde said the house-to-house tricolor campaign is a campaign to inculcate patriotism, and many innovative activities, including rallies, marathons, and cultural programs, have been organized every day during this period. Due to these activities, a patriotic atmosphere will be created everywhere, he added.
In order to increase public participation in this campaign, public awareness should be spread through various means, including social media.
Along with this, funds should be made available through the planning committee at the district level so that the national flag is available at every house.
The Chief Minister also gave instructions that the Tricolor should be illuminated at important places like the Mumbai Transharbour Link, Worli Sea Link, Gateway of India along with major dams in the state.
